can't stop SMILING!

why?! well... other than the fact that I'm a Christian and Jesus just does that to me anyway.... I'm at work right now and my boss just came in to start the 1st shift, and he hands me an envelope - one of those inter-department envelopes - I open it up to discover yet another envelope...this time it's a regular letter envelope...and inside contained...a... CHECK that covered HALF of last year's TUTION !  HAHA! Yeah - God truely blessed me yet again! Still debt free for another year! Praise the Lord! - Micah <><

Is Any Day REALLY Boring?! :)

Not mine! May-Term has been going pretty well. It's tough to sit through 6 hours of classes every day, in the same room, with one or two breaks...but - it's totally worth SIX credits in THREE weeks! It's also tough to work 8-9 hours a day at work...sometimes 6 days a week...from 11pm-8am - BUT...it's ALL worth it when I get a pay check every other week! It helps make college more afforable! So in reality, I'm going to work to pay for college, in order to graduate, get a piece of paper, in order to get ANOTHER job to pay for bills :) Funny how life works like that! This summer should be an eventful one! The day after college (last day of class is June 9) I'm going to Disney World w/ my family for my parents' 25th anniversary! That will be the perfect way to celebrate about 37 credits of school in 9 months, and also to celebrete the end of 3rd shift at work! haha! Hey - I don't know how many people still read this blog, but if anyone is interested in takin...

Almost a year of no writing

Wow - I can't believe it's been almost a year since my last published blog. The truth of the matter is - I've been so busy with school, work, Christian Student Fellowship, and whatever I have left of a social life, that blogging has been the utmost last on my priority list. However I HAVE been able to keep logs through detailed descriptions on my Gopher Guide (my calendar) and on my cell phone. Ironically - I learned just two days ago that my grandpa also writes about his days in detail on his wall calendar as well! Interesting isn't it?! Well - I do hope to update this blog with a summary of the past year - but in a nutshell: I will be a senior this coming fall at the UofMN (majoring in PR, and minoring in Hebrew, Biblical Studies, Religious Studies, maybe Jewish Studies, and Mass Communication). I'm in May Term right now - 6 hours a day, every day for 3 weeks (before going to Disney World on June 10th to celebrate my parent's 25th Anniversary)! I live at the C...
I know I need to do some updating - but here's the most important thing going on in my life right now (besides Jesus lol): So my brother Jake has open heart surgery this morning at 7:30am, July 7th at Mercy Hospital. I'm just asking that whoever reads this to pass it on and keep him in your prayers. For those of you who know, Jake is my bro (obviously), he's 16, and suffered a stroke a while back at the Excel Center downtown St. Paul, where my dad was called (he ran from his work in St. Paul to the Center and met the ambulance...woah) and my bro was rushed to the Children's Hospital. Because he was in St. Paul at the time, and because he went to this particular hospital, they were able to determine right away that he had a blood clot in his brain, and they were able to have the right equipment to fix this as soon as possible. Because of this, Jacob suffered no brain damage (which was all God). So the Lord really had a hand of protection on my little bro. Later on the do...
So last Friday my sister Lydia GRAUDATED from Meadow Creek! I...still can't believe it! I can't believe that she's going to college this fall at the UofMN (where I go) to major in interior design. She's an awesome sister though. I thank God for letting me be her big brother! The graduation went really well. The President from Northwestern College spoke, as did a handful of graduates. The concert band did a magnificent job as well, as did the choir ensemble (You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban). That night I had to work at DRC again, but the following morning Lydia had her open house. I was pretty tired but managed to stay awake for the entire thing. It was really good to see most of my old teachers. I can't thank God enough for bringing them into my life, helping me grow in my relationship with Christ, encouraging me throughout h.s., and even today, and for just being a godly example for me. Thanks MC teachers! After Lydia's open house, I went down to my room and cra...
- One of the rarest things that a man ever does, is to do the best he can. (Josh Billings) (one of my favorite quotes…and it’s true too)   So yesterday (the 1st) was pretty exciting I guess! I got to work and my boss Evelyn gave me an envelope...with a $50 check in it from DRC . I figured it must be a reimbursement check for gas mileage way back in January when I had to drive to another building for a while. So that was nice! Work went well last night (as well as tonight). Clarence (one of my temps) got back from vacation in Florida …and brought me back a T-shirt! So a check and a t-shirt…but wait, there’s more!   After work I headed to the bank to deposit my check, when I realized that I still had some gift cards that Al gave me for Kohls (he took back a few shirts a few days ago, bought sandals with the exchange credit, bought me a couple pairs of shorts, then gave me the rest of the gift cards which was about 25 bucks)! So I stopped by Kohls and bought a pair of athletic s...
So I went over to Al's house for a bit tonight...watching him lose to MegaMan...meanwhile his dad comes home with a 50 inch TV! woah! It wasn't that heavy either and it fit perfectly in their entertainment cabinet thing! First a new boat, now a tv! I guess it's Mr. Johansen's b-day tomorrow! I left Al's house shortly after helping them hook up the new TV, only to later realize after I got home that Al had my cell phone....jerk! So I went to work where I am now, cellphoneless....oh well! Good thing you can't take God away from me like you can my cell phone!
- Comedy is simply a funny way of being serious. (Peter Ustinov) (well said Peter)! So I slept at odd times of the night last night because of my weird time schedule at work. I woke up around 6am (just as my dad was leaving for work), ate breakfast, then went back to take a nap! haha! I woke up later to find out that my dad was coming home from work to work on the house for a bit before my sister's open house this coming weekend. I helped him out by finishing my egress window (cleaning out the crap, the 2 dead mice I found, etc.) so it could be primed. He washed the side of the house off, as well as the deck, etc. I ended up takin' another nap later on in the afternoon so I would be rested for work at midnight. I went downstairs, only to find a lost bee flying around...so I had to kill that sucker...lol Later on I picked up pizza for the family (Figaros) and then went to Al's house for a little while, watchin him get his butt kicked on MegaMan (the anniversary collection on...
- What ever disunites man from God, also disunites man from man. (Edmund Burke) Nothing too exciting the past couple days. I get Memorial Day off work which is nice. I've been trying to stay up all night in order to keep with my weird work schedule...but I've been sleeping at odd times of the day...oh well! Church was really good on Sunday. Fritz finished up the study on Jonah. the college group (consisting of Caleb, Jon, Jake, Heather, myself and my mom this week) went to Dunn Brothers at Festival Foods. Vetter got a...chicken which he devoured in about 15 minutes! lol!! It was fun catchin up with my friends and just "bonding" I guess for a while. I find it spiritually uplifting when I'm able to hang out with a bunch of friends all united under one purpose: to glorify Christ! ps. I love Jesus...and... **don't forget to use your blinkers when on the road! I dislike it when someone turns, switches lanes, or exits without signal lights! haha! Seriously though i...
gosh so here's the rest of the day so far!.... After work in the morning, I went home, said goodbye to my dad and sister who were going on my sister's sr. trip for the weekend, then I went downstairs, checked email, talked on the phone with Cassie :) and then got a call from Mandii saying she wanted to get started on moving to her new appt. So I went to my old h.s. to swap vehicles with my mom and I took the big ole Suburban to Shakopee, where I was one of 2 guys moving everything of Mandii's...including her huge couch! It was insane! It took forever! My arms are so tired...but it's all good! I'm really glad I got to help her out since I don't see her that much anyway. So now i'm sitting in "my" cubicle at work, waiting to start in about an hour. Maybe I'll catch a quick nap since it's been since 8:30pm last night since I slept at all! haha! Have a great night and God bless!!!! Micah (6:8)
